Completed Project
In this project, we carry out model-based economic analyses of different strategies for renewable energy integration in Germany, with a focus on storage technologies. Quantitative, numerical power market models are used to analyse the demand for storage capacities, the interaction between storage and transmission expansion, and the use of storage in oligopolistic markets. Moreover, we investigate the interdependency between storage utilization and power market outcomes, as well as the need for and the possible designs of supportive policy measures.
