    CV - Short Version

    Nils May is a research associate and Ph.D. student in the DIW's Climate Policy department. In his research, he focuses on empirical analyses regarding the transition towards a less carbon-intensive energy future. In 2013, he received his Master degree from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen, Norway. There, he had studied Economics with a major in Energy, Natural Resources and Environment, together with the University of California, Berkeley. In his Master thesis, he empirically analyzed the local economic impacts of wind
    power deployment in Germany. He conducted his Bachelor degree in International Business Administration and Information Technology in Germany and China, while working for SAP AG at the same time. He currently researches on reforms of the German Renewables Act (EEG) and the EU ETS.
