Workshop on TSO-DSO-PX Cooperation

Future Power Market Platform

Mannheim, 11th July 2017

Objective

Increasing shares of distributed energy resources create new questions on coordination between TSOs, DSOs and PX on facilitating and implementing wholesale markets, balancing and congestion management. For example, how to coordinate TSO and DSO requests on distributed flexibility for balancing and congestion management, and how to facilitate participation of distributed flexibility resources in wholesale markets?

In the workshop, we would first like to learn from different approaches currently applied or tested in EU member states. Based on this, we will discuss what options are suitable for a broader use in Europe. Can they be aligned with wholesale market developments, are they compatible with increasing shares of RE and distributed generation, and could they provide a common standard to help innovation quickly diffuse in Europe?
