Energy, Transportation, Environment
The department at a glance.Research profile
The department evaluates energy, transportation, and environmental strategies for sustainable development. The main factors under consideration are sustainable energy supply, mobility, and, in particular, the economic impact of climate change and climate protection policies.
One objective of the department is to find ways to ensure a climate-friendly, competitive, and secure energy system. In that context, it takes into account the specific markets, from liberalized to regulated, of the various energy supply and transportation infrastructures.
Energy, Transportation and Environment applies computer-based economic models and develops these further. It uses in particular general and partial equilibrium models that allow to evaluate the impacts of energy, transportation, and environmental measures. These applications are integrated in international networks and provide a basis for policy advice, scientific research, and the promotion of young scientists.
