The Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) Research Infrastructure at DIW Berlin is seeking a

Research Associate

for a position beginning October 1, 2017, in applied data analysis in the field of migration research and to produce a data report as part of a funded project to conduct a representative panel study on Refugee Families in Germany (GeFam).

Your role

  • Coordinating and producing a data report on the IAB-BAMF-SOEP Refugee Survey, taking into account research interests of researchers outside the project.
  • Analyzing questions of migration and integration based on the IAB, BAMF-FZ, and SOEP Refugee Survey in the area of social integration, welfare, and distribution research; publishing in specialist journals; and making presentations at conferences and seminars.
  • Participation in research projects in the framework of the externally funded infrastructure project InGRID II (Integrating Research Infrastructure for European Expertise on Inclusive Growth from Data to Policy)
  • Involvement in producing the GeFam Final Report

Your background and skills

  • Doctoral degree with honors in the social sciences or economics with a focus on migration research or welfare / distribution analysis
  • Outstanding skills in social reporting and knowledge transfer
  • Outstanding knowledge of quantitative methods of empirical social research, especially longitudinal analytical methods

      The position is for a fixed period ending on January 31, 2020. The salary will be determined according to TVÖD Bund, up to level E14.
