Dorothea Schäfer, Research Director of financial markets at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), Adjunct Professor of Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University; Editor-in-Chief Eurosian Economic Review (EAER), Evaluator for the European Commission, for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Chairwoman of evaluation committee for LOEWE (Landes-Offensive zur Entwicklung Wissenschaftlich-ökonomischer Exzellenz des Bundeslandes Hessen); Head of  various research projects supported e.g. by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), the EU Commission, the Wissenschaftsförderung des Deutschen Sparkassen und Giroverbandes, the Fritz Thyssen Foundation and the Stiftung Geld und Währung. Most recently, the DIW Berlin team became a member of the XPRESS consortium (https://www.xpress-h2020.eu/, https://www.facebook.com/xpressh2020/, https://twitter.com/xpressh2020, https://www.linkedin.com/company/30088834). She published in various journals such as Journal of Financial Stability, German Economic Review, International Journal of Money and Finance, Economics of Transition, Journal of Comparative Economics, Small Business Economics and Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics. She is regularly invited as an expert in parliamentary committees, including the Finance Committee of the Bundestag and gives lectures on financial market issues in Germany and abroad. Schäfer was a member of the "Progress Forum" (organized by the FES, Hans Böckler Foundation and  Otto Brenner Foundation) to accompany the work of the Enquete Commission of the German Bundestag, "Growth - Prosperity - Quality of Life (2012-2013) and has adviced the project group "Sustainable Governance Policy" (Nachhaltige Ordnungspolitik) of the Enquete Commission. She is a member of the Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief of the policy-oriented journal "Vierteljahrshefte zur Wirtschaftsforschung" (Quarterly Journal for Economic Research). Her work and research covers green finance, financial crisis, financial market regulation, financing constraints, gender and financial markets, financial transaction tax.
