The issue of innovation financing is an issue of major debate, in particular with respect to the recent economic and financial crisis. Based on her extensive research and practical experience as a policy advisor, Prof. Hall will provide an overview of the financing of innovation. Are new and/or innovative firms fundamentally different from established firms and if so to what extent? Do they therefore require a different form of financing innovation? What should governments do to bring the cost of financing innovation more in line with the desired level of R&D spending? What are the leftovers of the "crisis"? Will there be any?
