Puja Singhal is a Ph.D. student at the Berlin School of Economics (DIW Graduate Center) under the supervision of Carsten Schröder. Prior to joining the DIW Berlin in Autumn 2017, she has worked in the research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and on a field experiment with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL South Asia). Her current research focuses on evaluating the extent to which emission performance standards helped mitigate emissions of local pollutants from large combustion plants and speed up closure of existing dirty plants in the EU.
Puja holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an M.Sc. (Ph.D. coursework) in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis. Her research interests lie in environmental, development, experimental, and behavioral economics.
