DESCRIPTION:11:00 - 12.15 // The Florence Report argues that Europe was able to operate under a model of reduced responsibility for decades because it relied on American protection, the American market, and an American-style financial system. Germany embodies this model in its purest form. The key question, then, is how Germany’s savings surplus can be transformed into European investments and who will finance European public goods in the areas of defense, infrastructure, and technology. The discussion should link the European debate on the Savings and Investment Union with the German debate on special funds, the debt brake, and the investment gap, and should also refer to the parallel negotiations on the next multiannual financial framework.   You can find more information about the Florence Report here.Participation is possible on-site.
