SUMMARY:Tackling the Job Crisis
DESCRIPTION:12 -13 // In the OECD area unemployment has reached a record post-war high. Despite early signs of economic recovery, unemployment in most OECD countries will rise further next year and remain high for the near future. So far, Germany has not seen a major increase in unemployment. In 2010, however, the OECD expects total employment to continue to fall, meaning that the unemployment rate would rise significantly if the recovery fails to gain momentum. The new OECD Employment Outlook urges governments to reassess and adapt their labour market and social policies in order to prevent people from falling into the trap of long-term unemployment.
