SUMMARY:Demand Side Response – when to realize what services and how?
DESCRIPTION:12:15 - 14:00 // Large demand side potentials are reported in recent studies. But demand side options differ in the services they can provide to the power system - from short-term flexibility to peak shaving. We will discuss when different services might be required for the German power system as the share of intermittent renewables is increasing, and what regulatory framework and power market design is needed for initial deployment and large scale provision of different services. The seminar will be primarily held in English. However, we also welcome contributions to the discussion in German. To register, please send a short email to Kli-team@diw.de so that we can judge the catering needs. Presentations: Thomas Langrock, BET AachenAndreas Flamm, Director of Regulatory Affairs Europe, EnerNOC Wolf-Peter Schill, German Institute for Economic Research
