SUMMARY:Gas Supply Security in an Energy Union
DESCRIPTION:12:15 - 14:00 // Gas Supply Security is a central pillar of a ‘successful’ Energy Union package. However, member states differ in their assessment of risks, exposure to risks, and support for proposed measures like joint gas purchasing or emergency response measures. In the seminar we want to explore potentially different perspectives at the German and Polish example and discuss: -        What are the national circumstances, and what particular     interests result? -        What instruments are preferred for energy security in different countries? -        How to strengthen trust and solidarity as basis for ‘one European voice in global affairs’? Chair: Kirsten Westphal, SWP Berlin Referents: Adam Janczak, Deputy Director in the EU Economic Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Dagmar Balve-Hauff, Deputy Head of Division, Oil and Gas Markets, Emergency PreparednessHeiko Lohmann, Analyst and Gas Expert, Energate/ Gasmarkt Mariusz Ruszel, Rzeszow University of Technology, Poland
