SUMMARY:Presenting the new EU Platform: "Coal Regions in Transition" – enabling a `just and fast transition` in Germany and Europe
DESCRIPTION:12:30 - 14:30 // The European Commission launched the 'Coal Regions in Transition Platform' on Dec 11th, 2017 in Strasbourg. This initiative shall support transformation projects and provide a high level policy dialogue on coal. In a next step several pilot regions were chosen, including also Lusatia´s coal region. This BSEC shall give the opportunity to discuss future steps needed on the European, German and Regional level to enable `just and fast transition` away from coal to a more sustainable future for the affected regions.
