DESCRIPTION:10:00-11:00 // In this special Brownbag Session, we will present the platform SOEP Statistics to receive feedback from the SOEP team before we go into a final pre-launch phase. SOEP Statistics is both a data explorer and a tool to export weighted descriptive statistics of pre-screened longitudinal variables on all SOEP topics. The platform allows users to group data according to a pre-defined selection of demographics and to choose between different graphical representations. These generated plots and the aggregated data can also be downloaded for further use. SOEP Statistics will be integrated with paneldata.org and be freely accessible for all.  The target audience for SOEP Statistics includes a) researchers who want to cross-check their own weighted analyses with validated results, and b) data journalists who have an interest in SOEP data but do not have access to the actual datasets.  During the brownbag, we will first present you with the platform’s functionality and then let you explore it on your own with temporary access rights.For this special SOEP Brown Bag session, you can also tune in via Teams (please write to jbritzke@diw.de to get the link).
