  • CV - Short Version

I am a PhD candidate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). My work focuses on Macro-Financial Linkages and the impact of aggregate fluctuations on the cross section of heterogeneous market participants, with an emphasis on labor and oil markets, using both theoretical and empirical approaches. I had the opportunity to conduct policy work at international, financial and government institutions including the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, Deutsche Bank, DIW Berlin, and the Egyptian ministry of Industry and Commerce. I hold a BSc in Electrical engineering from the American University in Cairo and a MSc in Economic and Financial Research from Maastricht University. My research interests span topics in Macro-Finance, Macro-Labor and Oil markets using structural time series econometrics and heterogenous agents DSGE models. I joined DIW in 2014.
