    CV - Short Version

    Jana Hamdan is a Ph.D. student at the DIW Graduate Center in Berlin. During her undergraduate studies in Economics at Humboldt-University of Berlin, she spent one year abroad at Free University of Brussels. Subsequently, she obtained her M.Sc. in Economics at University of Potsdam, where she also worked as a student research assistant for the Chair of Markets, Competition and Institutions and the Chair of Public Economics. In her master’s thesis, she empirically investigated the impact of speculation on price spikes and volatility in agricultural markets. She interned with the EU representation of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein in Brussels, as well as KPMG in Berlin. Prior to joining the DIW Graduate Center, she worked in the Department of Competition and Consumers at DIW as a student research assistant. Jana’s current research interests are focused on financial markets, behavior and economic development.
