    CV - Short Version

    Martin is a Ph.D. student at the DIW Berlin Graduate Center since September 2015. He studied economics at Universidad de Chile in Santiago, before obtaining his master’s degree in economics from the University of Mannheim and the Université Libre de Bruxelles in a joint program between the two universities. His main fields of interest are macroeconomics, monetary economics, business cycle analysis and its interplay with financial stability. The focus of his PhD dissertation is on studying the transmission mechanism of monetary policy and the role of financial intermediaries for business cycles analysis, mostly using DSGE models. During his PhD, Martin did an internship at the research department of the National Bank of Belgium. Before joining the DIW, he did an internship at the Central Bank of Chile and worked as researcher and project manager at the Center for Regulation and Macro-financial Stability at Universidad de Chile.
