Events of VdF

Meetings and Conferences.

The VdF General Meeting takes place annually. Furthermore, the VdF-members regularly receive invitations to a number of exclusive events of DIW Berlin.

Berlin Lunchtime Meetings

The Berlin Lunchtime Meetings are a joint series of monthly expert talks hosted by the Centre of Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA). The Berlin Lunchtime Meetings are generously supported by the Anglo-German Foundation. The objective in holding these discussion meetings is to disseminate to a wide audience, in a non-technical fashion, the best policy-relevant research produced by the joint research networks of CEPR, DIW Berlin and IZA. The seminars serve as a platform for leading European and international researchers to address important policy issues, and as a forum for debate and discussion among researchers, policy makers and the private sector.

Industrial Conference

The Industrial Conference (Industrietagung) is the traditional institutionalized forum for exchange between DIW Berlin and the business sector. Since October 1960, the forum mets once a year and is promoted by the Society of Friends of DIW Berlin (VdF).
Approximately one hundred representatives of enterprises, business associations and economic sciences participate regularly. Since the the Federal Government moved to Berlin, the conference has been attracting increasing numbers of participants from politics. The conference understands its role as a platform for dialogs on different viewpoints and opinions.
