Project "Economic Transformation, Household Behavior and Well-Being in Central Asia: The Case of Kyrgyzstan"

Report of September 3, 2012

The pilot field work for the third wave of the "Life in Kyrgyzstan" (LiK) panel survey took place in August 2012 in Tokmok (for urban population) and Chui oblast (Alamydin/Pokrovka: for rural population). In total, 30 households were interviewed with the Russian version of the questionnaires. Bakhrom Mirkasimov led the pilot process in Kyrgyzstan for two weeks. Based on the pilot test results and consultations with the project management and local partners, the questionnaires will be optimized for the field survey in October 2012.

In September 2012, Tilman Brück, Damir Esenaliev, and Susan Steiner will visit Kyrgyzstan to discuss the data collection results of the 2nd wave of the LiK survey to conduct consultations and policy dialogue with the project stakeholders on the next research agenda of the project. In October 2012, Damir Esenaliev will travel to Kyrgyzstan to deliver training to interviewers for the upcoming 3rd wave data collection. The data collection is planned to start in the first half of October.
