Entrepreneurship Research Group

Research profile

Entrepreneurs as well as innovative activities by young companies play an increasingly important role in innovation-driven economies, both for economic growth and for the creation of new jobs. They are therefore important actors in economic change. At the same time, the number of start-ups has been falling steadily for some time. Against this background, the Entrepreneurship research group examines on an individual level which personal characteristics of entrepreneurs influence the process of founding and the subsequent entrepreneurial success and failure. At the entrepreneurial level, the research group deals with the question of the innovative capacity of start-ups and of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
