First results from the RKI-SOEP Nationwide Corona Monitoring study

Publication of June 9, 2021

Initial results from the RKI-SOEP study show a higher rate of SARS-CoV-2 infections among people with a lower level of schooling and vocational education. The results also reveal that around 2 out of every 100 adults in Germany had been infected with SARS-CoV-2 as of November 2020—around twice as many as officially recorded for this time period. As part of this study, approximately 15,000 adults took a SARS-CoV-2 antibody test and answered a questionnaire.
