10th Euroframe Conference on Economic Policy Issues in the European Union
Towards a better governance in the EU?

Organised by the EUROFRAME group of Research Institutes.
Venue: Warsaw, Poland

The EUROFRAME group of research institutes (CASE, CPB, DIW, ESRI, ETLA, IfW, NIESR, OFCE, PROMETEIA, WIFO) will hold its tenth annual Conference on Economic Policy Issues in the European Union in Warsaw on 24 May 2013. The aim of the conference is to provide an economic forum for debate on economic policy issues relevant in the European context.

The Conference will focus on how to improve European governance in the broadest possible sense (stability mechanisms, macroeconomic imbalances, financial safety net, etc.). Contributions should address issues related to: How to reform the European institutional framework, with a view to bring euro area countries out of the crisis and pave the way for better growth in the EU? What is the risk of multispeed EU as a permanent feature of European integration? What assessment can be made of the recent strengthening of the fiscal framework (TSCG and related measures) and of European solidarity (ESM)? What assessment can be made of monetary policy action and credit developments in EU countries since the beginning of the crisis? How to build a financial architecture for Europe? What about the projects of a banking union and of new banking and financial regulations? Is there still a risk of a euro-area break-up?
