Research Associate in the
Education and Family Department
Dr. Mathias Huebener is a research associate in the Department of Education and Family at DIW Berlin. Mathias conducts research in the field of education, family and health economics, wih a special interest on intergenerational links. In the field of policy evaluations, he studies effects of the G8-reform (shortening of secondary schooling), of German parental leave reforms and of daycare fees.
Previously, Mathias studied economics at the University of Essex and at University College London. He completed his doctorate at the DIW Graduate Center and the Free University Berlin. His doctoral dissertation "Essays on the impact of education and family policies on the formation of human capital" describes policy measures for the formation of human capital and the development of socio-economic differences.
