As a doctoral student at DIW Berlin, Niels Aka studies the role that model uncertainty plays for economic forecasts and policy conclusions. These conclusions are drawn from the analyses of economic time series. As a research and teaching assistant at the DIW Graduate Center, he has taught econometrics, organised research seminars and supported the development of the Graduate Center as a member organisation of the Berlin School of Economics. Niels Aka studied economics and politics at Durham University in the UK and was awarded an M.Sc. Economics from Regensburg University in Germany. During the autumn of 2015 he developed a forecasting model for employment and unemployment in the Euro Area as part of a research stay at the European Central Bank.
