Maximilian Schäfer is a Ph.D. candidate at the DIW Berlin Graduate Center. He studied Economics at the universities in Mannheim and Bonn. From 2016 to 2017, he was an intern at the Chief Economist Team in DG COMP at the European Commission. His dissertation focusses on the impact of digitization on competition policy matters. In his job market paper, he empirically assesses the impact of Big Data on the market power of firms.
