Maximilian Schäfer is currently a Ph.D. student at the DIW Berlin Graduate Center. He studied Economics in Mannheim and in Bonn, earning his Master of Science in Economics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 2014. Using an infinitely repeated game framework, his master thesis analyzes the impact of detection asymmetries on the stability of cartels in a multimarket framework. During his master studies he worked as a teaching assistant at the chairs of microeconomics and applied microeconomics at the Bonn University. Before joining the DIW in September 2015 he did an internship at the economic division of the German Federal Cartel office.
