Julio Fournier is currently a PhD student at the DIW at the graduate center. He studied business administration at the Universidad del Pacífico in Quito, Ecuador, before gaining a M.Sc degree in economics from the Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany in 2015. His thesis assessed the economic effects of energy policy in Ecuador by means if an applied computable general equilibrium model with heterogeneous households. Before joining the DIW Berlin he worked in several private companies as well as public organizations. His research interests include regional, resource and development economics.
