Berlin’s academic research institutions in economics cooperate more and more closely. The following seven institutions together form the Berlin Economics Research Associate (BERA) Program to promote post-doctoral research: the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), the School of Business and Economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU), the School of Business and Economics at Freie Universität Berlin (FU), the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, the School of Economics and Management at Technische Universität Berlin (TU), the ESMT European School of Management and Technology Berlin (ESMT) and the Hertie School of Governance

BERA seeks to fill

several Research Associate positions

for fixed-term appointments of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to German WissZeitVG - E 13 TV-L HU/TU/FU or E 14 TVöD (part-time work as well as employment contracts with two of the seven BERA institutions are possible; at DIW Berlin a tenure track option exists).

Excellent researchers from all fields of economics are invited to apply. Each of the positions will be hosted and administered by one of the BERA institutions. For further details about the positions at the various institutions see http://www.berlin-econ.de

Duties: Successful candidates will contribute part of their time to research and teaching in economics at the Bachelor, Master or PhD levels, as well as to furthering their own research agenda. At DIW Berlin and WZB there are no teaching duties.

Requirements: Applicants should hold a PhD in economics or a neighboring discipline at the position starting date, and should have excellent qualifications as well as outstanding own research.

Applicants should submit a statement outlining their research plans and their motivations for joining at least one of the seven institutions, a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of degree certificates, and teaching evaluations if available. Applicants are required to organize the separate submission of two academic letters of recommendation by their referees.
