Mara Barschkett is a PhD student at the DIW Berlin Graduate Center and a research associate at the Department of Education and Family. Her research interests are health economics, labour economics and early education as well as the intersection of those fields. Mara obtained her B.Sc. in Economics at the University of Bonn and spent one exchange year at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Subsequently she moved to Sweden and studied for her M.Sc. in Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). During her studies, she worked as a research assistant for Imperial College, London and contributed to different interdisciplinary research projects in the field of health economics.
