Katherine joined the DIW Berlin as Advisor to the Executive Board in January 2019; her thematic focus lies on organisation, strategy and operative science management. She advises and supports the Executive Board in all matters pertaining to the Institute's administration. Moreover, she is responsible for preparing the Executive Board meetings and the administration of the Society of Friends at DIW Berlin (VdF).
She previously held the position of Executive Manager at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2015-2019), where she was in charge of establishing the administrative framework of the Centre for Anthropological Research on Museums and Heritage. Before moving to Berlin Katherine worked in universitary EU project management at the University of Hamburg (2005-2011) and was a research fellow in international development studies at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (2011-2015), where she worked on development cooperation in tertiary education.
Katherine holds an LL.B. in Law and German from the University of Bristol, UK and a joint LL.M. in Law and Economics from the Universität Hamburg, Germany, and the Universiteit Gent, Belgium.
