Jonas Hannane is currently a PhD student at the Berlin School of Economics (BSE). He obtained his master degree in economics from Ecole Polytechnique and ENSAE in Paris, and his B.Sc. in economics from LMU Munich. In his master thesis, Jonas conducted a theoretical welfare analysis of advantageous selection in natural disaster insurance markets. Before joining the BSE PhD program in 2019, he worked in the competition practice of Charles River Associates where he produced economic analyses in the context of competition investigations from the German Cartel Office and the European Commission. His research interests relate to applied industrial organization as well as financial and insurance economics.
