Xi Sun is a PhD student at the Berlin School of Economics. She holds a M.Sc. in economics from the University of Bonn and B.Scs. in Public Finance from Xiamen University and International Business and Economics from the University of Magdeburg. During her studies, she gained insights into bilateral climate cooperation between Germany and China through her internship and consultancy work at GIZ China. She also delved into international climate negotiations during her internship at the UN Climate Change Secretariat. In her current research, she employs analytical modeling and stakeholder analysis, complemented by semi-structured interviews, to explore the policy instruments facilitating the transition of value chains toward a more circular economy and their potential impact on industrial decarbonization.
