Research Topics and Working Areas

Robin has been a doctoral student in the DIW Graduate Center since October 2020. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim. Moreover, he studied one semester at Chinese University of Hong Kong and spent the second year of his Master as a Visiting Student at the PhD Program in Economics at Yale University. After his undergraduate studies he has worked for one year in Zambia supporting a research project of the University Mannheim. Furthermore, he gained experience in Operations Consulting during an internship at KPMG. Robin's research focus is on international trade, environmental and climate policy and development economics. In particular, he is interested in the impact of trade policy on greenhouse gas emissions and the competitiveness of firms. In his master thesis he analyzed the effects of the introduction of a carbon border adjustment and estimated the implicit tax on greenhouse gas emissions in the trade policy of the EU.
