Studies on Consumption Taxation

Completed Project

Department

Public Economics

The Public Economics Department develops and operates microsimulation models on consumption taxation. The models are based on representative scientific use files of the Income and Consumption Survey (EVS) and the Continuous Household Budget Survey for Germany (LWR). The data allows for assessing the consumption tax burden of private households. The models take into account behavioral responses in household consumption, saving, and labor supply behavior.
