Caroline Stiel has been a research associate in the department Firms and Markets since 2013 and joined the research group Entrepreneurship in 2018. Her research focuses on firm performance and empirically analyses the role of firms’ internal organisational structure and innovation behaviour. Caroline Stiel received her PhD in November 2018 from Technische Universität Berlin. Her dissertation analyses the productivity of municipal energy and water utilities in Germany in the light of liberalisation, the transition towards a low-carbon economy, and demographic change.
