Four service departments support the scientific research at DIW Berlin through internal and external services.

Political consulting is a core mandate of DIW Berlin. In that context, we aim to reach the public and to provide a firmer empirical footing for the economic and socio-political debate. Achieving this requires that our research results are available and understandable for the public. This is the main task of the Communication's department.

The Management Services service department combines personnel and finance tasks under one roof. It offers internal services for the executive board, department managers, employees, and guests of the Institute.

The service department Legal and Human Resources offers internal services to the executive board of DIW Berlin and to its department directors, employees, doctoral students, as well as to guests from Germany and abroad.
    
The Information Technology service department provides DIW Berlin researchers with secure and stable access to modern information and communication technologies.
