Public Economics
The department at a glance.Research profile
The Public Economics department analyzes how economic, social, and financial policies influence the economic situation and the behavior of businesses and individuals.
Our hallmark is the empirical foundation of our research, performed in particular with microeconometrics and microsimulation. On that basis we analyze the economic effects of existing agreements and reform proposals.
Key research fields are income and business taxation, pension plans and other social security systems, the job market, and higher education support programs. In these areas, the department also engages in political advising.
