Basic Research and Research-Based Consulting

The mandate of DIW Berlin is to conduct basic research and research-based consulting for national, European, and international politics, economics, and the public. To accomplish these tasks, and to fully exploit its potential as a large research institute, DIW Berlin fosters cross-departmental collaborations. Important cross-cutting issues are thus tackled collaboratively by several departments. This allows DIW Berlin to react flexibly to current and emerging economic and socio-political topics.
