Open letter on European emissions trading

Report of April 29, 2013

42 German economists and social scientists are asking Chancellor Merkel to dedicate more attention to the European emissions trading scheme. It is of fundamental economic importance to European climate policy and the German energy transition. In its current form, the European emission trading scheme is not able to fulfill its guidance and steering functions. Urgent action is needed.
