Report of October 2, 2013
Silke Anger left the SOEP on August 31, 2013, to accept a leadership position at the Institute for Labor Market Research (IAB) in Nuremberg. As of September 1, 2013, she will be heading the research area “Education and Employment over the Life Course” in the research area “Life Opportunities and Social Inequality.” Silke will also get an appointment as University Professor (W3) of Economics, with a focus on educational economics, which was established jointly with the IAB, in the Faculty for Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration at the University of Bamberg.
Silke Anger was member of the SOEP team since November 2005, where she conducted research on the labor market, education, and health. In 2013, she completed her Habilitation in Economics at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin with a study on “Cognitive and non-cognitive skill formation and labor market outcomes.”
Silke turned down a (W3) professorship in the Department of Economics at the Freie Universität Berlin in “economics, with a focus on empirical economic research” offered in conjunction with a position as Head of Applied Panel Analysis in the SOEP at DIW Berlin.
We are sad to see Silke Anger go and wish her continued success in her new position!
