SOEP 2004

SOEP 2004

The Sixth International German Socio-Economic Panel User Conference (SOEP2004) will be held in Berlin, June 24-26, 2004. The conference provides researchers who use the SOEP, the opportunity to present and discuss their work with other researchers familiar with the SOEP data.

Shorter versions of selected conference papers were published in a volume of conference proceedings (Journal of Applied Social Science Studies [Schmollers Jahrbuch], 1/2005) with the understanding that a full version of the paper may be submitted to another professional journal.

The conference will take place at the Harnack-Haus of the Max Planck Society in Berlin Dahlem

On the day before the start of the SOEP2004 conference we will run a workshop on recent changes and prospects of the SOEP. We will present new features of the SOEP with special emphasis of survey methodology as well as database related issues. Following a presentation on "SOEP: A Panel Survey between Continuity and Innovation" we would like to have an open discussion challenging ideas on how to enrich the SOEP and improve SOEP data quality. Experienced, as well as new users of the SOEP data are welcome to attend this workshop which will last about half a day and starts at 2 pm on June 23, 2004 at the DIW Berlin.

Please register with the SOEP2004 registration form (download). For more information please contact Jürgen Schupp or Joachim Frick.
