Research Topics and Working Areas

Julia Witton joined SOEP in July 2024 as a research assistant in the project CALVI (Video-Interviewing as Part of a Targeted Multimode Design in Household Panel Surveys). She received her M.Sc. in Work, Organizational, and Health Psychology at the Freie Universität Berlin in 2024 and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the Berlin School of Social Sciences (BGSS) of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU Berlin). Her research interests are in the area of (un)desirable survey response behavior and improving the quality of survey data by optimizing their collection. She was awarded the Best Thesis Award of the German Society for Online Research (DGOF) at the General Online Research Conference (GOR 25) in 2025 for the presentation of her master thesis "Satisficing in a German Self-Administered Probability-Based Panel Survey", which she had written at SOEP.
