Networks and cooperation play an important role for DIW Berlin, as expert dialogue is the basic prerequisite for excellence in research, policy advice, and infrastructure provision. National and international networks in projects and on an institutional basis enrich the scientists’ research and help measure the institute by international scientific standards. The Society of Friends has accompanied the Institute for 70 years and supports DIW Berlin in its independent research in a variety of ways. Its focus is on building networks between science and business as well as a lively exchange of ideas.
