Research Topics and Working Areas

Rebecca earned her bachelor's degree in economics and political science from the University of Potsdam, during which time she worked as a student assistant in the department of Public Economics at the DIW. She then completed an internship at the Bundesbank in the area of banking and financial supervision, before going on to complete her Master's degree in Economics at Freie Universität Berlin. Meanwhile, she was employed as a research assistant at the Chair of Empirical Economics at the University of Potsdam, where she worked primarily on the employment effects of the statutory minimum wage in Germany. In her master's thesis, she addressed the question of how the so-called "G8" school reform in Germany has affected the labor market outcomes of the affected students.Her research interests lie in the area of applied microeconomics, especially in Labor, Education, and Gender Economics.
