Personnel news of May 12, 2026

We welcome Clara Schäper as a postdoctoral researcher in the Crime, Labor, and Inequality Division. Clara earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Potsdam, the Berlin School of Economics, and the DIW Graduate Center. Her research focuses on the economics of crime, the labor market, gender, and the family. Her current research focuses on gender differences and inequalities in the labor market and in education. She also examines gender-based violence, institutional support structures, and their impact on family and labor market decisions. In this context, she explores, among other things, the role of women’s shelters, legal reforms, and social infrastructures in the reporting and separation behaviors of domestic violence victims. We look forward to working with her.
