Cooperation between DIW Berlin and dimap-Group

The German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) concluded a cooperation agreement with dimap-Group concerning the German-speaking countries and the EU Institutions. In future, dimap and DIW Berlin will develop and market common business activities in the area of policy advice for companies, organizations and public and political institutions. As the largest German institute for economic research, DIW Berlin is active in the fields of basic research and scientifically based policy advice and provides economic analyses and experts within the course of this cooperation. dimap-Group provides its long-term experience and its competence in the areas of market and opinion research as well as of advice to political bodies, companies and organizations.
In 1925, DIW Berlin was originally founded as the Institute for Business Cycle Research and was given its current name a few years later. Since it was founded, DIW has had its seat in Berlin. In 2006, DIW Berlin will move from Berlin-Dahlem to Berlin-Mitte, in order to be even closer to its target groups - political bodies, organizations and media. Ever since 2000, the Institute has been under the management of Prof. Dr. Klaus F. Zimmermann. The origin of dimap-Group was the Institute for Market and Politics Research (dimap), founded in Bonn in 1995, which is one of the leading opinion research institutes in Germany today (for more information please see www.dimap.de). Since 1996, Infratest dimap, the subsidiary of TNS Infratest (Munich) and dimap (Bonn) have been commissioned by the ARD (German state-owned television station) with the reporting on all elections in Germany. In 2000, “dimap consult”, specialized in policy advice (see www.dimap-consult.de) and in 2002, the consulting firm “dimap communications”, specialized in company and organizations’ consulting (see www.dimap-communications.de) were founded. Today, the clients of dimap-Group include medium-sized companies as well as international, stock exchange listed companies, organizations and political as well as federal and state government institutions. The dimap-Group with its almost 50 employees has locations in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg and Munich and is thus represented throughout Germany.
