Nicolas Ziebarth was selected as a recipient of the NRW Young Scientist Award 2010 in the category of Economics. The €1,500 prize was awarded by the NRW Research Schools, a network of institutions for young scientists founded as an initiative of the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was conferred in nine different scientific disciplines at an awards ceremony at the Academy of Sciences in Düsseldorf on November 23, 2010. The Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS) represents the field of economics in this network. The president of RWI Essen, Christoph M. Schmidt, gave speech honoring Nicolas Ziebarth, who received the award for his article "Estimating Price Elasticities of Convalescent Care Programmes," published in the Economic Journal in 2010.
