The Graduate Center will offer a workshop on giving academic presentations. It is designed for all researchers at DIW who would like to improve their skills in talking in front of an audience.
The course covers topics like targeting the audience, choosing content, designing slides, commanding body language and voice, refining rhetorical skills, managing stress, and conveying messages authentically and convincingly.
One part of the training will include videotaping own presentations and analyzing them in the group. We hired a coach who is fluent in English who will give two successive workshops of 1.5 days each. With respect to content, they are identical. They take place from 9:30-18 hs. (first day) and 9:30-13:30 hs. (second day) in the Ferdinand Friedensburg Room 2.2008.
Please register with Yun Cao (ycao@diw.de)for one of the two sessions. Each session can host 10 persons.
