Moreover, you will learn how to write good abstracts that make editors become interested in your work. Topics covered will include:
  • An inside perspective of the decision making process in journals
  • How editors read papers
  • How to write abstracts to grasp the attention of editors, referees and other readers (practical exercises)
  • The parts of a scientific paper and how to compose them
  • How to deal with (negative) feedback

The course language will be English. Please register with Yun Cao (ycao@diw.de) for one of the two sessions and also indicate the availability for the alternative date in case too few/many people register for your session.
