17th DIWomen networking event on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The event will be held online in German.
Networking is a central aspect of DIW Berlin’s equality policies. The DIWomen events are intended to give both women employees of the Institute and women at other Leibniz institutes the opportunity to learn and be inspired by others, to network, and to engage in discussions in an informal setting. The goal is to create a strong cooperative network that represents the interests of women (FLINTA), especially in the areas in which they lack strong representation.
This time we are pleased to welcome Professor Gülay Çağlar. Prof. Çağlar heads the "Gender, Intersectionality and Politics" master’s program at Freie Universität Berlin. Currently, she researches and teaches in the fields of economics, politics, gender studies, food policy, and global governance. The discussion topic is diversity in everyday science. The main focus will be on the role of networks and an ethics of care in the science system. Gülay Çağlar was appointed by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth to the Expert Commission for the Fourth Report on Gender Equality on March 13, 2023. The focus of the Fourth Report on Gender Equality is "Gender Equality in the Ecological Transformation."
