Report of November 1, 2009

The most prestigious German research prize, the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of DFG (German Research Foundation) for 2009 was recently conferred on SOEP User Armin Falk (University of Bonn) for his research, “which has set standards in the behavioral economic research and in the economic sciences as a whole.”
Among the eleven Leibniz prizes awarded in 2009, only two go to researchers in the humanities and social sciences. The winners were named by the joint committee of the German Research Foundation (DFG). They had previously been selected by the nominations committee from among 141 candidates.
